Indoctrinated
By the tender age of three
Groomed to be
Another perfect worker bee
At thirteen
She started slipping through the cracks
Now she spends most of her days
On her back
Making money for smack
Oh no! We’ve lost all control
So throw your corpse
Among the proles
The mold’s been broken since 1864
Eat your young
Bury their bones beneath the floor
Invalidated
From the gentle age of nine
Doomed to be
Damaged by design
If given a chance
And not a million tests
Maybe she wouldn’t be lactating meth
From her withering breasts?

A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer

Terrific, marauding post-punk that will thrill fans of Idles with its pairing of cutting riffs and wry spoken/sung lyrics. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 26, 2022
