Recurring dreams of dead machines
Break up the tedious routines
Another loosely assembled pile of bones
Sticks its fingers in the pie
Destroy the owner’s manual
Be kind, have fun and try not to die
Not what you take away
It’s what you leave behind
When you go
People are suffering
People are dying
A girl said that on TV the other day
Oh, what a world we live in
Got to up the ante
No time to kill
Maybe eat a pill?
It will all be fine if you just fucking smile
Can’t you see that we’re leaking a little light?
Do you feel like we’re leaking a little light?

A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer

Terrific, marauding post-punk that will thrill fans of Idles with its pairing of cutting riffs and wry spoken/sung lyrics. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 26, 2022
