lyrics
There’s an itch in her soul
That she can’t quite scratch
Now she’s out of control
Cooking up a new batch
Noxious fumes sets her face on fire
Even death can’t take her higher
Dressed in perspiration
Shaking like a wet retriever
Straight up jubilation
No one is gonna believe her
A neon ooze accents the moonlight
And for a moment the world seems all right
Just enjoy the ride tonight
How much dope is dope enough
To keep the skies afloat?
I wanna know
How much smoke is smoke enough
To hide the leaky lifeboat?
I wanna know
Yeah, I wanna know

Floor-to-ceiling Boris ragers! It’s like they looked back on songs like Statement and Woman On the Screen and said “let’s do a whole album like that!” Most of these tracks don’t even pass 3 minutes! Zerkalo holds up the middle with some anguished doom.
In the end, *NO* is as strong and declarative as it’s title. Brian Parker

The album description mentions an “emotional apex.” That’s really the difference between Stare and the band’s previous albums. Ulcerate was always supremely technically proficient. I just didn’t care all that much. Their growth has come from making music you will feel. Metallurgical Fire

Call of the Void is the hook that draws you in. Then you find out Mutoid Man can go heavy with Broken Glass Ceiling, then jump to an energetic jam like Graveyard Love. Finally they hit you with an epic like Setting Sun and you realise that you have fallen for Mutoid Man's excellence. Thanks very much for the great album. rook96
Terrific, marauding post-punk that will thrill fans of Idles with its pairing of cutting riffs and wry spoken/sung lyrics. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 26, 2022
The first new album in 30 years from these noise rock pioneers, featuring the iconic Thalia Zedek, positively rips. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 12, 2019
